Highway maintenance worker
Perform routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort involving exposure to kinds of weather conditions. Operate plows during winter operations. Serve a role within the Incident Command System to support a response to emergency situations. Satisfactory completion of the Highway Maintenance Worker Traineeship 2 or 1 year of experience in the operation of highway construction, maintenance equipment, or other vehicles in excess of 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating with air brakes and possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver License with DOT-specified endorsements, and two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications, in addition to the following three specific certifications: heavy dump truck, one person plowing with single or double wing, and front-end loader, are required. $ 31,245 to $ 34,831 per year.
