IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND - Boris Mikhailovich Feldman

In 2021, Boris Mikhailovich Feldman, the vice-president of the American Association of the Disabled and Veterans of the Second World War, would have turned 101, but he was gone. Almost every Russian-speaking family has its own hero - a World War II veteran, a man who sprinkled his blood and sweat on the path to Victory and stopped fascism. Probably, almost everyone considers this hero special, and this is how it should be, this is how we keep the history of our people. People have different fates. I want to tell you about my great friend. I had the great honor to know this outstanding son of our people, to be friends with him and write about him. The road to Victory is also saturated with his blood. For me, Boris Mikhailovich Feldman was not just a unique person - he was a real friend. He was a modest and tactful, wise and charming person with extraordinary charisma. His life is a vivid example of serving people and society. He volunteered for the front, was captured, fled and fought again. Freed Romania, Hungary, Austria from the Nazis. In Hungary he was wounded. In Austria, I learned about the end of the war. He was awarded the Order of Glory, the Medal For Courage, the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and other government awards. After the war he graduated from the Institute of Physical Education. Master of Sports in gymnastics, acrobatics, swimming and archery. He worked at the Lviv Medical Institute at the Department of Physical Education.
For 25 years and until the last day of his life, Boris Feldman came to the office as a volunteer to provide advice to veterans, and when the COVID-19 pandemic began, he continued to help people by giving valuable advice over the phone.
On March 8, I spoke with him on the phone and he gave smart, sound advice. He had enough strength and warmth for many. He gave life lessons. Boris Mikhailovich Feldman had such a strong magical glow, such a love for people and such a thirst for life that it would be more than enough for many ... Boris Mikhailovich Feldman, a legendary man, was appreciated and loved for his special human qualities that attracted such same enthusiasts like him.
But only now I understand that he was a phenomenon, he was light, and the light cannot belong to one person - it shone for everyone.
