March 8 at the New York Ghetto and Concentration Camp Prisoners Association

March 8 at the New York Ghetto and Concentration Camp Prisoners Association
The celebration of International Women's Day was very heartfelt at the New York Association of Ghetto and Concentration Camp Prisoners. President Pavel Vishnevetsky, vice-presidents Mikhail Sirota and Zhenya Zaturanskaya, and board member Polina Zhornitskaya did a great job.
Special thanks to the patron and sincere philanthropist Ruslan Gladkovitser. Despite his busy schedule, he found time to personally congratulate the prisoners of the ghetto and concentration camps - people to whom he has provided invaluable assistance for many years. His talented daughter Rebecca Gladkovitser came with him - a young talent who has participated in art exhibitions, danced and sang since childhood. She was awarded a certificate by the Mayor of New York Eric Adams, and also has certificates of gratitude from City Council member Ari Kagan, Assembly member Mikhail Novakhov and others. Since childhood, Rebecca has been brought up in the spirit of mercy, and this evening she presented the women with roses, filling the holiday with special warmth.
It is very pleasant to see that the past of the ghetto and concentration camp prisoners has not been forgotten, and our children and grandchildren worthily preserve the history of the people. On this evening, the Association's birthday people were also congratulated, creating an atmosphere of unity and family comfort.
A special event of the evening was a meeting with a unique person, whose titles and ranks can be listed for a long time. Former adviser to the Prime Minister of Israel Alex Selsky specially flew in to emphasize the importance of voting in the World Zionist Congress. He explained that if Russian-speaking Jews are not represented in the Congress, they will simply be forgotten, which means that no one will be able to protect our interests. The voice of prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps is important for all of us, our children and grandchildren. You can vote on the website AmericanForumForIsrael.vote.
Famous politician Alex Selsky always says:
"If your life is threatened by anti-Semites, we, the Jewish Israelis, will come for you. We will send planes and take you away."
Israel has repeatedly proven that it does not abandon its own. And wherever disasters occur, Israeli rescuers, doctors, and specialists are in the front lines. It is enough to recall the beginning of the war in Ukraine, when it was the Israelis who first organized the evacuation, sent buses, medical aid, and humanitarian aid.
Today, Israel needs support. Your participation in the vote is not just a filled-out ballot, but a step towards victory, the protection of historical justice and the fight against anti-Semitism, including in US universities.
Ghetto and concentration camp prisoners have always been the pride of the Jewish people. These worthy people, who survived the Holocaust, have repeatedly held rallies, speaking out for peace and protesting against manifestations of hatred, and have also helped Israel for many years. Despite their modest means, they are always ready to share the last. Their example is a lesson in humanity and fortitude.
We live in difficult times, when the world has witnessed a rapid rise in anti-Semitism. Enemies are trying to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, and this final war can only be won by joint efforts. Today, Israel has one of the most powerful armies in the world. Only victory will bring peace.
For two thousand years, the Jews had no land of their own, wandering around the world. But they managed to turn the desert, where once instead of roads there were only goat paths, into a blooming oasis. Their work made Israel a prosperous country.
The events of October 7 became a turning point, a bloody line that showed: the enemy will not stop. 1400 dead, hostages, who have not yet been returned, like a bleeding wound and unceasing pain.
But Israel doesn't just fight - it creates. Its scientists make world-class discoveries, its technologies save lives around the world. An example is the famous "Iron Dome", an air defense system that has repeatedly protected civilians from attacks. It is needed not only by Israel, but also by the United States.
The legendary Golda Meir once said:
"We don't have nuclear weapons, but if we need them, we'll have them, we'll just make them."
This people cannot be broken!
Your voice is the voice of strength, memory and justice. Vote for the American Forum for Israel - help Israel, as it once helped you leave the former CIS countries.
Politicians gave a welcoming speech, telling many interesting things and answering pressing questions.
The performance of Zhenechka Levit and Igor Kazatsker was beautiful and bright. The ghetto prisoners danced to their songs. The video can be seen on YouTube Lagunova News. Subscribe and see a lot of interesting things. The event was also attended by Yevgeny Lekah, President of the American Forum for Israel, an organization that actively works to protect Jewish rights and support Israel in the international arena.
This evening once again proved that the prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps are a symbol of fortitude, courage and boundless love for their people. They went through the horrors of the Holocaust, kept the faith and continue to fight for peace and justice.

Meeting with heroes - legendary veterans

Meeting with heroes - legendary veterans
It was not just an event - it was a day filled with the light of memory, love and endless gratitude, eyes filled with tears and souls - with pride. We gathered to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and bow our heads before those who achieved it - veterans of the Second World War. They are all from 97 to 103 years old. They came to remember. And we - to remember.
Thank you. For the Victory. For life. For this day.
