Presentation of a book about rescue and rescuers
Recently I was invited to the presentation of the book The Rescue by Guy M., which took place in the home of unique people - Ruslan and Svetlana Gladkovitzer.
A soldier of the IDF vividly and interestingly described everything he saw with his own eyes. He could not be photographed, but he will forever remain in the memory. He spoke of the courage and heroism of those who came to the aid of people who suffered on one of the most tragic days of our century. In the course of just one day – October 7 – 1,200 people were killed, many were taken hostage, and some are still in the hands of terrorists.
The voice of Svetlana Gladkovitzer sounded especially touching as she performed Jewish songs with her singer and musician friends. She was accompanied on the percussion instruments by her little son, a real young talent, five-year-old William Gladkovitzer.
The charity evening was attended by Dr. Levit with his wife Elena, Marina Kovaleva and many caring people who care about the fate of Israelis and who want to help Israel, a wonderful country that has been surrounded by enemies since its inception. And now Israel is going through a difficult time, and our help, support and understanding are needed.
The main event of the evening was the presentation of a book that in a short time became a bestseller: "Rescue: October 7 through the eyes of the Israeli pararescue teams." Author: Guy M.
This gripping and poignant account offers a rare glimpse into the events and stories of October 7 as they have never been told before.
"Salvation is a gripping tale of an unimaginable reality. It is an extraordinary story of courage and inner strength that reaches into your heart, soul and mind from the first page, leaving an indelible mark that will not go away - even long after you finish reading." - Eliezer Shkedi, former Commander-in-Chief of the Israeli Air Force.
On the morning of October 7, as the first news of the scale of the attack began to arrive, Guy was among the first to leave the base of the elite Unit 669 and head to the area of the occupied settlements. He encountered terrorists on the roads near Gaza, witnessed the horrific scenes after the tragedy at the Nova festival, participated in rescuing the wounded in Kfar Gaza and Be'eri, and found himself in the epicenter of the ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip.
The men of this unit, one of the IDF’s four elite units, are trained to operate in the most extreme conditions. But that day, they had to overcome not only an external threat but also their own emotional moments, facing constant fire, heavy casualties and moral dilemmas.
This is the first candid testimony from those who took part in the events themselves: childhood friends who, awakened by gunfire, went to rescue people; fighters who stormed Hamas-occupied villages; reservists who followed their hearts and went south to save lives; and commanders who did not abandon their soldiers even after being wounded.
"Salvation" is a story of courage, pain and hope. It is a book that allows you to look into the very essence of events and find out what they really were.
By purchasing this book, you will be doing a good deed and paying tribute to real heroes.
