In December 2023, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) released its final plan to redesign the Queens bus network to better meet ridership needs and improve customer service ( https://new.mta.info/document/128476 ) . We are holding these public hearings to gather recent comments regarding bus service in the District. If approved by the MTA board, the phased implementation of the project is scheduled for mid-2025.
What is optimizing Queens' bus network?
The bus network in Queens has not changed significantly in recent decades, despite changes in demographics and travel patterns. The Queens Bus Network Redesign project aims to reimagine the bus network to increase connections, improve efficiency, reduce travel times and simplify service. The redesign of Queens' bus network will feature simpler and more direct routes, improved bus stop layouts, improved connectivity and increased frequencies on key routes. Registration for participation in public hearings
To register to speak at the hybrid public hearing, register online at https://new.mta.in-fo/2024-qbnr-hearing or call the Public Hearing Hotline at (646) 252-6777. Registration closes at 6:30 PM (6:30 PM) on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. All comments will be transcribed and added to a permanent archive of these hearings.

Telephone service employees work daily from 6:00 to 22:00. Performance time is limited to two (2) minutes. You may make an oral presentation or submit a written statement regarding the proposed project instead of or in addition to an oral presentation. Written comments are accepted online at https://new.mta.info/2024-qbnr-hear-ing . All written and online comments must be received by 8:00 PM (8:00 PM) on July 26, 2024. Comments received after this date will not be included in the official hearing record.
