Every year, the world meets new leaders, activists, creators and entrepreneurs whose achievements and dedication inspire others. We also meet those who become examples for us. They are not just success stories, they are sparks that illuminate the path for those who follow them. An outstanding woman is one who volunteers her time to improve the quality of life of those around her and inspires and encourages others to reach their potential. These women influence our society and their work sheds light on the principles of compassion, justice and strength. It gives inspiration and strength to others to strive for change. These women become beacons of hope in the ocean of life. Their examples encourage us not to stop there, but to strive for the heights, knowing that the possibilities are endless when the heart is filled with love and devotion to people. A ceremony honoring the amazing women of South Brooklyn was recently held in Coney Island. District Leader of Brooklyn's 46th Ward, Dionne Brown-Jordan, organized the annual awards ceremony for the most deserving women and presented them with certificates of honor. The laureates of the ceremony also received certificates of honor from politicians: City Councilwoman Susan Zhuang and State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton. Honored on this day were: Jessica Cabral, Lina Chen, Desirea Harris, Ashante Harding, Oluwakemi Hodge, Crystal Nieves, Chantel Richardson, Nazia Shaheen, Sonya Smith and Betty Ruth Smith (honored posthumously), who have done so much to improve the quality of life of thousands residents of South Brooklyn. It was nice to meet wonderful men - famous community leaders, without whom this event would not have been so solemn and bright. Ari Kagan, Michael Silverman, David Cabral, David Anderson and others came to congratulate women engaged in various fields of activity and managing to help those who need their support. Thank you to the wonderful Mom Pat Brown, Pastor Kanny Hulla, Selina Grant, Lakisha Bowers, Mary Gainey, Tam Reynolds for helping organize this wonderful holiday event. Our newspaper congratulates all honorees who speak different languages and live in our unique city of New York. When the article was being prepared for publication, readers contacted the newspaper with a request to express their gratitude to the doctors who save people: Dr. Natalya Idelevich, Zhanna Tsukerman, Susan Burdete - Radoux-oncologist Maimonides Medical Center, who works with Russian-speaking assistant Dr. Yan Pronin.
