The play “Life is sad, life is beautiful” is a story about talent, love and loneliness; about meetings and sad partings, about the fragility of hopes, about dramatic turns of fate.
The heroes of the Dialogue Theater performances: Bunin, Pasternak, Erdman, Bulgakov, Tairov, Tsvetaeva - they all lived “at the limit of feelings,” in search of freedom in an unfree world, moving forward “above barriers” and leaving their beautiful reflections “in the mirrors” of the era. Remembering the events of 100 years ago, so comparable to the meanings and anxieties of today, with trepidation and excitement we are preparing to show on stage the wounded souls of the heroes of Nabokov’s stories. Creating Nabokov's images certainly requires a high degree of acting dedication and talent.
