A GOOD ILLNESS IS A PREVENTED ILLNESS
Circulation disease specialist Dr. Lev Khitin answers our readers' questions.
Blood circulation, or circulation, is the basis of absolutely all physiological functions of our body.
Food products, absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, are carried by the blood throughout the body. Oxygen, entering through the lungs, requires unimpeded blood flow to reach our tissues. Carbon dioxide, all kinds of slags and decay products formed in the process of healthy life, are again brought to the organs of processing and elimination, such as the liver and kidneys, through the bloodstream. A huge number of other functions, such as maintaining temperature, delivering hormones, producing and distributing antibodies and other immune defense factors, as well as many other things, depend on adequate circulation. So Just as the functioning of factories and plants depends on the quality of the communication routes between them, so the work of our organs and tissues depends on the condition of our blood vessels. Just as an accident on just one road can disrupt the work of an entire city, so too can a blockage of just one vessel can result in amputation of an entire limb.
Circulation and civilization
In developed countries, circulation problems cause more illnesses and more deaths than all malignant tumors combined. For example, a heart attack is a consequence of blockage of the coronary arteries. A stroke occurs as a result of blockage of the blood vessels of the brain. The so-called "intermittent claudication", or variable pain in the legs when walking, is caused by the same processes in the vessels of the legs. Soon after a heart attack, heart failure occurs, as a result of which even minor physical exertion leads to shortness of breath. A stroke often ends in paralysis or paresis (partial paralysis), incomprehension of spoken language or impaired ability to speak. Atherosclerosis of the lower extremities ends in gangrene or amputation. There are a huge number of such examples. Circulation diseases cause conditions that undermine not only freedom of movement, but also freedom of unimpeded communication and even breathing!
What should we do?
Surely, everyone will agree that preventing a disease is better than treating it. The problem, however, is that prevention, or, in medical terms, prophylaxis, is a difficult and painstaking task compared to treatment. In addition to this, in disease prevention, the main role is played by the patient must play. At the time when the treatment is carried out by the doctor, the patient already gets a passive role. However, by analogy with the saying: "only that war is good that did not take place", it can be said that only that disease is good that was prevented. The prevention process must begin with an examination by a competent specialist.
Is it time?
Despite the accelerated development of medicine, a large number of patients still seek medical help at late and advanced stages of diseases. At the same time, it would be right to consult a specialist at the first question: "Should I see a doctor or endure it?" If you have difficulty walking or stand, your legs go numb or feel "cottony", "like prostheses", if swelling has appeared or it only seems to you that it has appeared, if you have pain, cramps, your legs ache, "suffer", become heavy, buzz, burn, itch, are burning, freezing, or bothering you in any other way, it could be the beginning of a preventable disease in the future, and you should definitely visit a specialist. At our institute, we will examine you, conduct tests if necessary, draw up a prevention plan or prescribe a course of treatment , if necessary, we will carry out this treatment and verify its results.

PAIN AND BURNING IN THE FEET!
Dear friends in misfortune, those who know what DIABETIC FOOT or NEUROPATHY is, who are tormented by a serious chronic complication of diabetes mellitus, who know what torment the night burning in the legs brings, when nothing helps, no painkillers, even gabapentin, from who feels dizzy, nor antidepressants. I was so tormented by night pains, it felt like I was standing on buttons or glass.

Letter to the editor: pain in the knee joint

Letter to the editor: Pain in the knee joint
I am 50 years old, I suffered from debilitating pain in the knee joint, I lost peace and sleep, I could not travel, painkillers and hormonal injections did not help. I could hardly get to work, they allowed me to work online. I started thinking about surgery. A stroke of luck led me to the renowned knee treatment center at Sinai Diagnostics.
