“The Court of History” with Tamara Eidelman in New York
In Chicago, Tamara Eidelman will hold a meeting in the format of a conversation with listeners. The meeting will discuss one of the most burning topics of our (and not only) time: guilt and responsibility.
Tamara Natanovna will talk about how this issue was resolved at different times and in different cultures. Viewers are invited to discuss together: does collective responsibility exist or is it a relic of medieval ideas about the world? People in different eras and in different countries are trying to find the answer to the question - who is responsible for atrocities, for wars, for the killing of civilians.
Who is to blame - the executioners themselves or the propagandists, those who participated in the crimes or those who remained silent?
History knows many answers to these questions. Of course, none of them is absolutely correct, but in her lecture Tamara Eidelman will invite listeners to look at how people found the answer to this question in different times and eras.
The lecture in New York is part of a large North American tour, in which Tamara Eidelman will visit cities in Canada and the United States.
