BEST CHICAGO CHEF COOKING FOR UKRAINE
When trouble strikes, Chicago chefs team up to do good. On Wednesday, March 16, from 18:00 to 21:00, a community of top chefs will gather at the Navy Pier to cook their best dishes for their guests and take part in a massive fundraiser for the people of Ukraine.
All money raised from Chicago Cooks for Ukraine presented by Lifeway Foods will go directly to World Central Kitchen, an organization that is always at the forefront to provide nutrition in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises.
Tony Priolo, chef and co-owner of Piccolo Sogno: "After seeing how things are unfolding in Ukraine, we have rallied our restaurant community to help."
This event would not have been possible without significant support from the business community such as Lifeway Foods, Blue Plate Catering, Breathru Beverage and Navy Pier.
Sarah Stegner, co-owner and co-chef of Prairie Grass Café: “The Chicagoland chef community has united and is voting in support of Ukraine. We are chefs. We feed people."
“We are proud to be a sponsor,” said Yulia Smolyansky, CEO of Lifeway Foods. - I myself was born in Kyiv and received asylum in the United States as a refugee in 1976. Most of the members of the Lifeway team are refugees and immigrants from the former Soviet Union, Ukraine, Russia and neighboring regions. We are grateful to the chef community for being ready to come together at a moment's notice to respond to this humanitarian crisis with great empathy and compassion."
As an event sponsor, Green City Market ensures that all money raised from Chicago Cooks for Ukraine, represented by Lifeway Foods, goes directly to World Central Kitchen.
