Gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman met with Republicans in Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Republican Party recently held a landmark event honoring the memory of President Lincoln, where high-level politicians spoke and discussed the initiatives and strategies they are proposing to benefit the people and society.
The Kings County Republican Party is currently led by Liam McCabe and Svetlana Zelinskaya. I also want to thank our remarkable leader, Jennifer Moore, for her tremendous work in preparing the evening. The Republican Party has nurtured many leaders who have made significant contributions to public administration and the development of our communities. These are people who combine legislative and legal experience, and who consistently champion the virtues of good over evil, justice over arbitrariness, and integrity over opportunism.
Of course, people don't always understand how difficult the work of elected officials is, and they don't always want to thank them. I can cite examples of our elected politicians speaking out loudly from the podium about our problems. Who would ever hear about us, the residents of Brooklyn? A little later, I'll tell you about new candidates for elected office who are ready to take up the baton of public service.
This meeting with gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman was particularly significant. He spoke with enthusiasm and confidence about the future and expressed his readiness to play a key role in ensuring the party's future development is based on high standards, time-tested principles, and tangible achievements, while always prioritizing the well-being of the state's residents.
Bruce Blakeman is known as a serious leader who knows how to achieve victories. As county executive, he was re-elected in 2025 by a 12-point margin in a traditionally Democratic district. His success is based on concrete results: ensuring public safety, lowering taxes, and restoring common sense to government decision-making.
Bruce Blakeman has consistently opposed sanctuary policies, rejected mandatory masks, banned transgender athletes from women's sports, and, in his words, wants to make the county one of the safest in the country, while simultaneously bolstering the police force with hundreds of new officers. Following the tragic events of September 11th, he served as commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and was twice elected county executive, demonstrating strength of character and decision-making ability in crisis situations. He is confident he has a chance to defeat incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul, putting the interests of New York first.
The event was attended and featured speeches from prominent politicians, including Congresswoman Nicole Maliotakis, Senator Steve Chan, Assembly members Mikhail Novakhov and Alec Brook-Krasny, and others.
I was especially pleased by the presence of a younger generation of politicians—energetic, driven, ready to learn and take on responsibility. The party is truly raising worthy successors, and I'm pleased to know the staff of Assembly Member Mikhail Novakhov and Senator Stephen Chan's office, where people truly help the residents of the district.
The American national anthem was played solemnly. Women who have been instrumental in supporting the party were presented with flowers.
It was great to see concerned Republicans who took the time out of work to come and contribute because they truly care about the future of our city, our state, and our country.
