NJ TRANSIT INFORMATION MESSAGE
ON HOLDING AN OPEN PUBLIC HEARING

In accordance with the statute 1984, Section 5, p. 578 (Section 5 of PL 1984 c.578) of the SCDRTAP NJ TRANSIT program holds a public public hearing to gather information and opinions of interested parties regarding programs developed as part of the implementation of the Senior Citizen Ordinance & Disabled Residents Transportation Assistance Program, SCDRTAP (Elderly and Disabled Residents Assistance Program). We will offer three (3) sessions for South, Central, and Upstate New Jersey.

The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Assistance Program funds the necessary capital, operating and/or administrative costs for on-site coordination of public transport services for the elderly and persons with disabilities. The program also provides funding to improve access to designated bus and rail routes, provide technical assistance to counties, and manage program implementation throughout the state.

All materials considered at the hearing will be made available in accessible formats upon request. Closed captioning is available for the hearing impaired. Individuals requiring the assistance of an interpreter should contact Customer Service at 973-275-5555 no later than ten (10) business days prior to the hearing date. The public is invited to participate in the hearings, which will take place on 3 November according to the schedule below. At the hearings, all those present will be given the opportunity to express their opinion and attitude towards the Assistance Program for the elderly and persons with disabilities. In order to ensure that all present have the opportunity to speak, a time limit of three (3) minutes is set for comments. This hearing will NOT discuss new information about the services provided by the Access Link program for passengers with limited mobility, this information will be discussed in separate customer forums (Customer Forums).
