NJ TRANSIT INFORMATION NOTICE ABOUT OPEN PUBLIC HEARING
Pursuant to Section 5 of P.L. 1984 c.578 of the SCDRTAP program, NJ TRANSIT is holding an open public hearing to gather information and views from interested parties regarding the programs developed pursuant to the Senior Citizen Ordinance. & Disabled Residents Transportation Assistance Program, SCDRTAP (Senior and Disabled Residents Assistance Program). We will offer three (3) sessions for the southern, central and northern regions of New Jersey.
The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Assistance Program funds the necessary capital, operating and/or administrative costs for local coordination of public transportation services for seniors and persons with disabilities. The program also provides funding to improve access to established bus and rail routes, provide technical assistance to counties, and manage program implementation throughout the state.
All materials considered at the hearing will be made available in accessible formats upon request. Closed captioning is available for those with hearing impairments. Persons requiring interpreter assistance should contact Customer Service at 973-275-5555 at least ten (10) business days prior to the hearing date. The public is invited to attend the hearing, which will take place on December 6, 2023, as scheduled below. At the hearing, all those present will be given the opportunity to express their opinions and views on the Aging and Disability Assistance Program. To ensure that everyone in the room has the opportunity to speak, there will be a time limit of three (3) minutes for comments.
