Yuri Rostov is a symbol of television that was trusted, united and inspired

Yuri Rostov is a symbol of television that was trusted, united and inspired
It is difficult to find words when people who left a bright mark on our hearts pass away. At the age of 72, Yuri Rostov passed away - a brilliant journalist, inimitable TV presenter and a man of rare inner strength. He loved life so much... The former host of the Vesti program died in his home in Florida after a second heart attack, leaving a void that is difficult to fill.
Yuri Rostov possessed something that cannot be measured in words: charisma, charm, warmth and dignity. His voice was instantly recognizable – calm, confident, filled with respect for the viewer. Honesty and inner strength sounded in his intonations. His analytical mind and personal charm attracted thousands of listeners. They waited for him in front of their screens. For millions of viewers, he became a symbol of television that they trusted, which united and inspired.
For those who knew him personally, Yuri Ivanovich will always remain a sincere and considerate person, a person with a subtle sense of humor and a noble soul. He treated me with special respect, I remember his warm words and gentlemanly gesture - a kiss on the hand, his quiet but meaningful words of support. When he left television, he promised to come visit. This meeting never took place, but the memory of his words will forever remain a bright recollection of a person who knew how to warm hearts.
Yuri's life was unusual and multifaceted. Born in 1953 in Washington to Soviet diplomat Ivan Rostov and Henrietta Golato, he absorbed different cultures and worlds from childhood. After graduating from MGIMO, he devoted himself to journalism, becoming one of the first anchors of Vesti in 1991. Back then, the country followed his every word, and his charismatic, intelligent and charming image instantly won the hearts of viewers.
Fate brought Yuri to the United States, where he continued to work in Russian-language television broadcasting, remaining true to his profession and his style. Colleagues considered him a unique master - his talent and greatness exceeded the limits of the small studios in which he worked.
Yuri spent his last years in sunny Bradenton with his beloved wife Natalia. She became his support, friend and keeper of the family hearth. His joy was his family: his daughter Sofia and four grandchildren, who gave him happiness and meaning. Sofia recently gave him another grandson - a continuation of the family line, which became a source of joy for him. Fate was harsh: he experienced the death of his son Igor, who lived a very closed life. The love of his family, the respect of his colleagues and the memory of millions of viewers will keep Yuri Rostov in our hearts forever.
The passing of Yuri Rostov is an irreparable loss. He left behind a bright mark in journalism and in the lives of people who were lucky enough to know him. Farewell, Yura... You were not only an outstanding professional, but also a person whose warmth and dignity will continue to live in the memory of everyone who came into contact with your life.
Blessed memory...
May the earth rest softly.

IN MEMORY OF ARKADY GUREVICH

IN MEMORY OF ARKADY GUREVICH
This year is his 90th birthday.
Remembering our difficult but happy life with him, it seems like it was just recently and at the same time it was a long time ago.
Hard post-war times. In the north of the country, on the shore of the White Sea, the family of the regiment's commissar Mikhail Abramovich Gurevich (wife Bunya Ivanovna, son Arkady) lives in a garrison. In the same communal apartment lives the family of the naval aviation pilot of the same regiment, Major Nikolai Sergeyevich Saulin (wife Klavdiya Pavlovna, son Valery, two daughters Mira and Nelya), a Ukrainian family and an Azerbaijani family.
They lived amicably, although not very well fed. For the New Year, they gave 3 kg of flour to each family member. They collected mushrooms (dried, salted) and berries. For the holidays, Klavdiya Pavlovna baked delicious pies with blueberries, bilberries, lingonberries and mushrooms.
mi. The whole apartment, of course, treated itself. On New Year's, a Christmas tree was cut down in the forest. The unusually fresh smell of spruce filled the entire apartment. The lights were constantly turned off. In the largest room of the Saulins' communal apartment, adults
They usually ate at a homemade smokehouse, and Arkady told all the children scary stories about the Hound of the Baskervilles or showed filmstrips on a kinescope that he had built himself.
When Arkady was 16, his parents gave him an accordion, and he taught himself to play it. Children and adults adored him, especially 7-year-old Nelya Saulina.
After finishing school with a medal, Arkady entered the Moscow Engineering and Economics Institute, which he successfully graduated from. For more than 30 years, until leaving for the United States, he worked in one organization - the GIPROMEZ Institute (State Institute for the Design of Metallurgical Plants). He defended his PhD dissertation (technical sciences), had the title of Honored Economist of Russia, and taught at the Moscow Financial Institute.
Nikolay Sergeevich Saulin, having graduated from the Higher Officer Courses in Riga, was assigned to the Kola Peninsula, where he served in the Northern Fleet Air Force Headquarters (near Severomorsk). The Saulin family moved to Moscow after Nikolay Sergeevich's demobilization. Nelya Saulina, having graduated from school, went to Riga, worked for the newspaper "Soviet Youth", and entered the Riga Polytechnic Institute.
Nelya and Arkady met after a long time. In 1962, they got married in Riga. Nelya moved to Moscow to be with her husband. They had two daughters - Tatyana and Julia. Granddaughter Polina was born and lives in Moscow, and grandchildren Israel and Julia were born in New York, where Arkady immigrated with his family in 1994.
Arkady has been gone from us for many years - a wonderful person, a smart, intelligent, caring and beloved son, husband, father and grandfather. We miss him very much.
We remember our relatives and friends who have left us, they are always in our hearts! Blessed memory to them!
