Independence through the prism of tragedy and hope
33 years have passed since the declaration of independence of Ukraine. The American newspaper "R.Reklama" has been covering the festive events all these years, including at the government level. The celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's Independence is overshadowed. The terrible war takes lives, leaving many with severe wounds that cripple not only the body but also the soul. After the end of the war, which we all look forward to, the Ukrainian people will suffer from deep psychological trauma for a long time. On August 25, a charity concert "The Power of Ukraine" was held in New York, dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, organized with the aim of raising funds for Ukrainian soldiers in need of prosthetics, as well as to unite Ukrainians who have been scattered by fate all over the world. Many guests came to the concert in blue and yellow outfits, in embroidered shirts, expressing their patriotism in different ways, but equally sincerely. Assembly member Alec Brook-Krasny gave a solemn greeting, wishing Ukraine a speedy victory. American doctor Michael Fulmes, who provides charitable assistance to Ukrainians, was greeted with thunderous applause. The US Ambassador for Human Rights, Head of the Department of Diplomatic Relations for G100 Negotiations, Dr. Sima Karetnaya, a native of Ukraine, spoke vividly and inspiringly. She emphasized that New York, as a city of refuge, opens its doors to refugees. Over the past two years, many refugees from Ukraine have arrived in New York, and the city has become a new home for talented people. Ukrainian culture is a bright and unforgettable kaleidoscope: melodic songs, fiery dances, applied art, a unique school of painting by Ukrainian masters. “New York Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul have approved the candidacy of Alina Grosu, which I proposed. Introducing a galaxy of outstanding diplomats, I want to note that I feel the support of Mayor Eric Adams, which is especially important for the Ukrainian refugees who have found shelter in this great city. Ukraine in 2024 will be represented by singer Alina Grosu, and I am confident that she will embody Ukrainian culture within the walls of the UN with honor and dignity.” - said Sima Karetnaya. So, let's get back to the concert. The artists on stage won the hearts of the audience, immersing them in the melody and power of the Ukrainian language. The host Vasyl Chebonenko impressed the audience. An incredible resemblance, manners, speech, humor, the audience for a moment thought that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had come on stage. In an exclusive interview, I learned that he graduated from the Yaroslav Mudryi Law University in Kharkiv. He held an especially impressive auction, which included a painting of the Ukrainian flag, boxing gloves autographed by Vitali Klitschko, a violin, and Time magazine, where on the cover there was a photo of Volodymyr Zelensky - a man who bore colossal responsibility during the war. A special moment came when two Ukrainian soldiers, real heroes who received serious injuries to their lower limbs, brought in the flags of the USA and Ukraine. The anthems of both countries were played. The concert featured a symphony orchestra and a children's choir, who sang praises to the heroes of Ukraine and brings its victory closer. Footage was shown of cadets from the American Military Academy West Point applauding the Ukrainian military. The concert featured Ukrainian singer Alina Grosu, who works in the dance music and pop-rock styles. She was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. She has been performing on the professional stage since the age of 4. She studied at the Kyiv Academy of Circus and Variety Arts, Department of Musical Arts, and at VGIK, Department of Acting, in Moscow. In the spring of 2023, she continued her professional education in the USA at the School of Acting in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The concert was attended by: Honored Artist of Ukraine singer Lyudmila Fesenko, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Kharkiv resident Victoria Vennikova, Dan Baturin, Vasily Bondarchuk, Alexander Krivoshapko, violinist Assia Ahhatt and others. However, the terrible war continues to take lives... Marina Lagunova

Lilia helped not only to get her husband back, but also to save herself
When my husband said he was leaving because he "didn't love me anymore," I collapsed. I didn't eat, I didn't sleep, the children saw me falling apart. I looked for help everywhere. Lilia immediately said: these are not his words. He didn't leave on his own. I didn't believe in such things then, but everything she said matched. She started working: she performed rituals, cleansing, gave me meditations, advice on how to restore my inner state. My husband returned after 3 weeks. He himself said: "It was like I was in a fog all this time." Now we are together again. But the main thing is that Lilia not only brought back my husband, she brought me back. I feel like a strong woman again. Her contacts (+380638055486 - WhatsApp Viaiber; +19297133433 - regular communication)
Our journey to healing began with Lilya. We didn’t even immediately understand what exactly she was doing, but it just became easier. The air in the house became different. Words became softer. Looks — warmer. Lilya helped us not just stay together — she helped us become better. We learned to listen to each other. To see. To feel. The closeness that we had lost long ago returned. This is a real miracle — and we will be forever grateful to her for it. Her contacts (+380638055486 - WhatsApp Viaiber; +19297133433 - regular communication)
My husband and I separated after six years of marriage. He left as if everything we'd built had vanished. I turned to Lilia in despair. She didn't promise "magic in a day," but after the ritual, I felt lighter, as if a burden had been lifted. A month later, he returned. A completely different person—attentive and caring. We're back together. And I know: if it weren't for Lilia, this wouldn't have happened. Her gift is real. WhatsApp/Viber: +380638055486 USA/Canada: +19297133433
Silk Road Festival in New York - a triumph of culture and unity For several years now, like many others, I have been looking forward to the Silk Road Festival with particular anticipation. It is organized by a tireless, bright female leader, an outstanding teacher, Alena Badalova, who heads the My Way children's cultural and educational center. This is not just an event - it is a real spiritual holiday that promotes mutual enrichment, spiritual unity and reveals the dazzling palette of cultures of our multinational New York - a beacon of multiculturalism and creativity. The festival reflects the essence of My Way Center's mission - to provide an opportunity for self-expression, creativity, intercultural dialogue - and is a beacon of humanism, respect and cooperation. Despite the serious challenges that preceded the festival, it still took place with triumph. Several months before the event, a building next to the center caught fire, classes were cancelled, and one of the invited groups from California got into a car accident and ended up in the hospital. However, having overcome all the difficulties, the artists took to the stage and amazed the audience with their heartfelt number dedicated to Azerbaijan, causing a storm of applause at the Oceana Theatre. And against all odds, on June 1, 2025, Center My Way organized a grand festival "Silk Road", which became a real ode to the historical and cultural greatness of the ancient trade route that connected East and West, and the route served for centuries for exchange - not only of goods, but also of ideas, art, beliefs, philosophy. An impressive mosaic of national cultures unfolded on the theater stage. Cultural gems from countries such as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kalmykia, Buryatia, India, Mongolia, Turkey and others were presented - all those whose history is intertwined with the history of the legendary Silk Road. Showing mutual respect and pride in their heritage, the festival encourages the younger generation to explore the world through the lens of art, history and universal human values. I would like to express special gratitude to the director Alena Badalova and the art director, the famous artist and sculptor Emin Guliyev. Their inexhaustible energy, professionalism and love for children fill this project with life. The creativity and success of the students of Emin Guliyev's art studio have been followed with admiration on social networks for many years. Together with dedicated employees, volunteers and leaders of musical and dance groups, they created a truly magical atmosphere, giving children a chance to perform on the professional stage of the American theater Oceana. I would also like to mention many other leaders of musical groups. These are professional dancers, ballerinas and just beauties, for example, Irina, the head of Irina Dancing Studia and others, from whom it was impossible to take your eyes off. And the way the children performed, there are simply no words! And can you imagine what it is like to bring dozens of child dancers on stage who danced together with professionals? Many children have grown up before my eyes, and I rejoice in their successes as in the victories of my child. I often see the performance of children from the My Way center at various events in the city, and this is always the highlight of the event. And it is not surprising that the efforts of Alena Badalova and the center's staff were recognized with honorary certificates and gratitude from public and political figures: from Assemblymen William Colton, Alec Brooke-Krasny, Senator Stephen Chen, which was presented by the Senator's chief adviser Ari Kagan, on behalf of the Mayor of New York Eric L. Adams, which was presented by the Assistant Commissioner for the Department of Arts and Culture of New York Kendal Henry, and from other government representatives who honored the organizers for their contribution to the development of culture and the education of the younger generation - and, believe me, each certificate is recognition of service to people. Also, the famous lawyer Eva Rakhamimova was awarded an honorary certificate for charitable activities, and it is worth noting that many city events took place thanks to her support. In an interview, Alena Badalova said: “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the New York City Department of Cultural Afairs in partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature, New York City Mayor Eric L. Adams, The State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, Diana Bagrationi Foundation, Buryad Mongol United Association, Darina Sanzhieva, Law Office of Yeva Rakhamimov and Oceana Theater. It is their generous support and grant that have made this event possible, enabling us to continue this cherished tradition." Marina Lagunova
When my husband and I were on the brink of divorce, I didn't believe there was a chance to get it all back. But Lilia isn't just a psychologist; she's a true master of her craft! Thanks to her, we were able to not only save our family but also become even closer. My husband became more attentive, and I learned to be more open about my feelings. Thank you, Lilia, you saved our relationship! I'll leave my contact information for anyone who really needs help (+380638055486 for WhatsApp and Viber, +19297133433 for regular calls).
